1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Scripture Time mobile application (the “App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Halo Development Studio LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of Texas.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not download, install, or use the App. If you are using the App on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via an in-app notification or, where applicable, by email. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Description of the App

Scripture Time is a mobile application that provides Bible reading tools, reading progress tracking, bookmarks, notes, devotional resources, and an optional AI-powered question-and-answer feature called Bible Chat. The App is available on iOS and Android platforms.

Certain features of the App are available at no charge. Additional premium features may be available through one-time in-app purchases or subscription plans processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or aspect of the App at any time, with or without notice.

3. Eligibility

The App is intended for users who are at least 13 years of age. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

We do not knowingly permit users under the age of 13 to create accounts or use features requiring sign-in. If we become aware that a user under 13 has accessed the App in a manner inconsistent with these Terms, we will take prompt steps to address the situation.

4. User Accounts and Sign-In

Account sign-in is entirely optional and is turned off by default. You may use the App as a guest without creating an account. If you choose to enable sign-in using Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information as prompted by the authentication provider;
• Maintain the security of your Apple ID or Google Account credentials;
• Promptly notify us at support@halodevtstudio.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account; and
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs through your sign-in session.

We do not create or manage our own user accounts and do not have access to your Apple or Google credentials. We are not responsible for any loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain the security of your credentials with those providers.

5. Bible Chat and AI Features

5.1 Nature of the Service

The App includes an optional feature called Bible Chat, which uses third-party artificial intelligence (AI) models — which may include models provided by Google (Gemma), OpenAI, Mistral AI, and Alibaba (QWEN), among others — to respond to your questions about the Bible. The specific AI models used may change over time.

Bible Chat is provided for informational and devotional purposes only. Responses generated by AI models do not constitute theological advice, religious instruction, or any form of professional counseling. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of AI-generated responses.

5.2 Your Responsibilities When Using Bible Chat

When using Bible Chat, you agree that you will:

• Not submit queries containing personal, sensitive, private, or confidential information about yourself or any third party;
• Not use Bible Chat to generate harmful, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or unlawful content;
• Not attempt to manipulate, jailbreak, or circumvent the AI models’ intended behavior; and
• Review the privacy policies of the applicable AI model providers, as your query text is transmitted to those providers for processing.

You acknowledge that your queries may be processed and retained by third-party AI providers in accordance with their own terms and privacy policies, and that Halo Development Studio LLC does not control those providers’ data practices.

5.3 No Warranty on AI Responses

AI-generated responses are provided “as is” without any warranty of accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose. You should independently verify any information provided by Bible Chat before relying on it for any purpose.

6. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

Certain premium features of the App may be unlocked through one-time purchases or ongoing subscriptions. All purchases are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, and all billing, refund, and cancellation terms are governed by the policies of those platforms. We encourage you to review those policies before making a purchase.

Subscription fees are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, as selected) until cancelled. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple or Google account settings. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not provide partial refunds for unused subscription time except as required by applicable law or platform policy.

We reserve the right to change pricing for premium features at any time. We will provide reasonable advance notice of any price changes for existing subscribers.

7. Intellectual Property

The App and all content, features, and functionality therein — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, software code, and user interface design — are owned by or licensed to Halo Development Studio LLC and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. You may not:

• Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any portion of the App;
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App;
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels on the App; or
• Use the App or its content for any commercial purpose without our express prior written consent.

Bible translations, devotional content, and other third-party materials accessible through the App are subject to their own respective copyright terms and licenses. Your use of such content is governed by those terms.

8. User Content

You may create notes, bookmarks, and other personal content within the App (“User Content”). You retain ownership of your User Content. By creating User Content, you grant us a limited license to store and process that content solely as necessary to provide the App’s functionality (e.g., syncing to your iCloud or Google Drive account).

You are solely responsible for your User Content. You represent and warrant that your User Content does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party and does not violate any applicable law. We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms.

9. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use the App to:

• Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation;
• Harass, threaten, or harm any person;
• Transmit spam, malware, or other harmful code;
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App or its servers;
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App or its related systems;
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity; or
• Engage in any conduct that restricts or inhibits any other user’s use or enjoyment of the App.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App immediately and without notice for any violation of these Terms.

10. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

We do not endorse, and expressly disclaim all liability for, any third-party content, services, or links accessible through the App, including Bible translations, devotional resources, AI-generated responses, and external websites.

Scripture Time is a devotional and study tool. It is not a substitute for pastoral care, professional counseling, or theological education.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, HALO DEVELOPMENT STUDIO LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY DOLLARS (USD $50.00).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Halo Development Studio LLC and its members, officers, employees, agents, and licensors from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the App; (b) your User Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual property or privacy right.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

13.1 Governing Law

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.

13.2 Informal Resolution

Before initiating any formal dispute proceeding, you agree to contact us at support@halodevtstudio.com and provide a written description of the dispute, your desired resolution, and your contact information. We will attempt to resolve the dispute informally within thirty (30) days of receiving your notice. If we are unable to resolve the dispute informally, either party may proceed to arbitration as described below.

13.3 Binding Arbitration

ANY DISPUTE, CLAIM, OR CONTROVERSY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE BREACH, TERMINATION, ENFORCEMENT, INTERPRETATION, OR VALIDITY THEREOF, OR THE USE OF THE APP, SHALL BE RESOLVED BY BINDING ARBITRATION rather than in court, except as provided in Section 13.5 below.

Arbitration shall be conducted by a single neutral arbitrator in Harris County, Texas, administered by a recognized arbitration organization such as JAMS or the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under their then-current applicable rules. The arbitrator shall be selected in accordance with the rules of the chosen arbitration organization.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree that any arbitration shall be conducted in your individual capacity only, and not as a class action or other representative proceeding. You expressly waive your right to file a class action or seek relief on a class basis.

13.4 Costs of Arbitration

Each party shall bear its own attorneys’ fees and costs in connection with any arbitration, except that the arbitrator may award fees and costs to the prevailing party to the extent permitted by applicable law. Filing fees and arbitrator compensation shall be allocated in accordance with the rules of the administering arbitration organization.

13.5 Exceptions to Arbitration

Notwithstanding the foregoing, either party may seek emergency injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction in Harris County, Texas to prevent irreparable harm pending the conclusion of arbitration. Nothing in this section shall prevent us from taking action to protect our intellectual property rights.

13.6 Venue for Non-Arbitral Proceedings

For any matter not subject to arbitration, you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Harris County, Texas, and you waive any objection to the exercise of jurisdiction over you by such courts and to venue in such courts.

14. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with or may link to third-party services, including Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In, iCloud, Google Drive, the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, subscription management providers (such as RevenueCat or Superwall), analytics providers, and AI model providers (as described in Section 5). Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms of service and privacy policies, which are independent of these Terms.

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, content, or practices of any third-party service. Any transactions you conduct with third parties are solely between you and those third parties.

15. Termination

These Terms remain in effect until terminated. We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice, including if we believe you have violated these Terms.

You may stop using the App at any time. If you have enabled sign-in, you may delete your synchronized data by removing the Scripture Time data files from your iCloud or Google Drive account.

Upon termination, all licenses granted to you under these Terms will immediately cease. Sections 7 (Intellectual Property), 10 (Disclaimers), 11 (Limitation of Liability), 12 (Indemnification), 13 (Governing Law and Dispute Resolution), and any other provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.

16. Changes to the App

We reserve the right to modify, update, suspend, or discontinue the App or any part thereof at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the App.

17. Miscellaneous

• Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy (available at privacy.html), constitute the entire agreement between you and Halo Development Studio LLC regarding the App and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
• Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court or arbitrator of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
• Waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
• Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms or any rights hereunder without our prior written consent. We may freely assign these Terms, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets.
• Force Majeure. We shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations under these Terms resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, labor disputes, or failure of third-party services.
• No Agency. Nothing in these Terms shall be construed to create a partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship between you and Halo Development Studio LLC.
