Scripture Time
Privacy Policy
Halo Development Studio LLC
Effective Date: April 9, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to Scripture Time, a mobile application developed and operated by Halo Development Studio LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how your information is handled.
This Privacy Policy describes what information is collected when you use the Scripture Time app, how that information is used, and your rights as a user. This policy applies to all users of Scripture Time regardless of your location, and we have included region-specific provisions where applicable.
By using Scripture Time, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Optional Account / Sign-In
Account sign-in is entirely optional and is turned off by default. You may use Scripture Time as a guest without creating an account or providing any personal information.
If you choose to enable sign-in — for example, to synchronize your app data across multiple devices — you will authenticate through your existing Apple ID (Sign in with Apple) or Google Account (Sign in with Google). Scripture Time does not create its own user accounts and does not capture, store, or have access to your Apple or Google credentials.
When you sign in, Apple or Google provides us only with a unique user identifier and, if you permit it, your name and email address. We use this identifier solely to associate your synchronized data with your account.
2.2 Data Synchronization
If you enable sign-in, your Scripture Time usage data (such as reading progress, bookmarks, notes, and settings) is saved as a data file and stored in your personal iCloud account (for Apple devices) or Google Drive (for Android devices). This data is stored in your own cloud storage account — under your control — and is downloaded to any additional devices you sign in to.
Halo Development Studio LLC does not host, store, or have independent access to your synchronized usage data. That data lives in your Apple or Google cloud storage and is governed by their respective privacy policies.
2.3 Usage and Analytics Data
We collect anonymized or aggregated data about how users interact with the app in order to improve features and app performance. This may include:
- Features accessed and frequency of use
- Session duration and general performance metrics
- Crash reports and error logs
This data does not directly identify you and is used only to understand how users engage with Scripture Time and to make product improvements.
2.4 In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
One-time in-app purchases are processed entirely through the Apple App Store. Subscription services are managed through a third-party paywall provider (such as RevenueCat or Superwall). In all cases, your payment and financial information is handled directly by Apple or the paywall provider — Scripture Time does not collect, capture, or store any payment card details or financial data.
We may receive limited, non-financial confirmation data (such as subscription status, entitlements, and purchase date) from Apple or our paywall provider in order to unlock premium features for your account.
2.5 Information We Do NOT Collect
Scripture Time does not collect:
- Precise or background location data
- Contacts, photos, or files from your device
- Biometric data of any kind
- Payment card numbers or any financial data
- Your Apple or Google account credentials or passwords
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To authenticate your identity via Apple or Google sign-in (if you choose to enable it)
- To facilitate synchronization of your usage data across your devices via iCloud or Google Drive
- To verify in-app purchases and subscription entitlements
- To send important account-related communications (e.g., subscription confirmation or support responses)
- To analyze anonymized usage patterns and improve app features and performance
- To comply with applicable legal obligations
We do not use your information for targeted advertising, and we do not sell your personal data to any third party.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share limited data only in the following circumstances:
4.1 Sign-In Providers (Apple and Google)
When you use Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, your authentication is handled by those platforms under their own privacy policies. We receive only a limited identifier and any profile information you expressly permit. We encourage you to review Apple’s Privacy Policy and Google’s Privacy Policy for details.
4.2 Cloud Storage Providers
Your synchronized usage data is stored in your personal iCloud or Google Drive account. This storage is subject to Apple’s and Google’s respective terms and privacy policies. Halo Development Studio LLC does not independently access or store this data.
4.3 In-App Purchase and Subscription Providers
Purchase transactions are processed by the Apple App Store. Subscription management may be handled by a third-party provider such as RevenueCat or Superwall. These providers have their own privacy policies governing the data they collect and process.
4.4 Analytics Service Providers
We may use third-party analytics tools to process anonymized usage data on our behalf. These providers are contractually prohibited from using data for any purpose other than providing analytics services to us.
4.5 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Halo Development Studio LLC, our users, or the public.
5. Data Storage and Retention
Because Scripture Time relies on iCloud and Google Drive for data synchronization, your personal usage data is stored in your own cloud accounts and not on servers operated by Halo Development Studio LLC.
Anonymized analytics data may be retained for as long as necessary to support product improvement. If you disable sign-in or delete your Scripture Time data within iCloud or Google Drive, that data will be removed from your cloud storage in accordance with Apple’s and Google’s retention practices.
If you contact us for support and provide personal information (such as your email address), we will retain that information only as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry.
6. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect any information associated with your use of Scripture Time. These measures include:
- Reliance on Apple’s and Google’s secure authentication infrastructure for sign-in
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS) for all network communications
- No storage of financial or credential data by Scripture Time
While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we are committed to promptly addressing any security concerns that arise.
7. Children’s Privacy
Scripture Time is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where required by applicable law, such as in certain EU member states).
If we become aware that a child under the applicable minimum age has provided personal information, we will take prompt steps to delete that information. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used the app and provided personal data, please contact us using the information in Section 11.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights regarding your personal data. Regardless of your location, we will do our best to honor reasonable requests relating to your information.
8.1 General Rights (All Users)
- Access — you may request a summary of personal data we hold about you
- Correction — you may ask us to correct inaccurate information
- Deletion — you may ask us to delete any personal data we hold
- Opt-out of analytics — you may be able to limit analytics collection in app settings
- Data portability — your usage data is stored in your own iCloud or Google Drive and can be accessed directly through those platforms
8.2 California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, the right to delete your personal information, the right to correct inaccurate personal information, and the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by California law. To submit a request, please contact us using the information in Section 11.
8.3 European Economic Area, UK, and Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR include:

- The right to restriction of processing
- The right to data portability
- The right to object to processing
- The right to withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)
Our legal basis for processing your personal data includes: performance of a contract (providing the app and its features), legitimate interests (improving the app through anonymized analytics), and your consent (for optional sign-in). Where we transfer data outside the EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with applicable law.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8.4 Canadian Residents (PIPEDA / Law 25)
If you are a Canadian resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you, the right to challenge its accuracy, and the right to withdraw consent for its collection or use (subject to legal or contractual restrictions). Quebec residents may have additional rights under Law 25 (formerly Bill 64).
8.5 Other Regions
We respect the privacy rights of users in all jurisdictions. If your country has privacy laws that grant you rights not described above (including Australia’s Privacy Act, Brazil’s LGPD, or others), you may contact us to exercise those rights and we will respond in accordance with applicable law.
9. Third-Party Services and Links
Scripture Time may reference or link to third-party content or services, such as Bible translations, devotional resources, or external websites. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through or in connection with the app.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we make changes, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this document. For material changes, we will provide notice via an in-app notification or, where applicable, by email.
Your continued use of Scripture Time after any changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
